The healthy gourmet Greek salad

A nice and fresh tomato salad for the summer with the taste of sumac, olives, cucumber and shallots.

A tasty variation to the classic Greek salad, that is great as a side dish or even on its own for a light lunch. Sumac is a Middle Eastern spice, which is fresh, zesty and mildly spicy. It can liven up many simple dishes like couscous, stews, soups and in this case salads.

This salad bring a great amount of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, which are nature’s own medicine. Rich in potassium, is perfect to rehydrate for those summer days after the beach.

A great simple, but tasty, healthy Mediterranean recipe for busy people.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 medium tomatoes
  • 2-3 Cucumbers small sweet variety
  • 1 Shallot
  • a pinch Sumac
  • a sprinkle Extra-virgin olive oil
  • a drops Fresh lemon juice
  • Sea salt to taste

Instructions

Place all the washed and cut vegetables in salad bowl, finely sliced the shallots, add the seasoning, olive oil, salt to taste, stir and serve
