A healthy diet starts with a healthy food shopping list. When we know that we have the right ingredients in our kitchen cupboard it is easier to put food and thoughts around food at the back of our mind.
It helps us plan our weekly meal with ease and reduce unnecessary trips to the shops that can trigger last minute un healthy food purchases.
I always tell my client that it is important to have something for when you have those sweet cravings moments. When you know that is there and you can have it, it reduces urges, a sense of deprivation and anxiety about reducing sweet food consumption.

- Raw cacao powder
- Cinnamon
- Organic maple syrup
- Organic natural full-fat yogurt

- EVOO Extra-virgin olive oil to use raw on salads

Food shopping tips and links
- Organic Raw Cacao. Raw cacao is cocoa powder that has been toasted at low temperatures to maintain all the amazing nutrients, polyphenols and antioxidants in the cocoa bean. It is easy to find in any health store, like Wholefoods.
- Organic maple syrup. Easy to find, I buy mine from Waitrose.
- Cinnamon. It tastes amazing and helps lower blood sugar levels. I use Bart’s from Waitrose.
- Organic natural yogurt. The UK is blessed with really good quality yogurt. Anything from form Yeo Valley or Rachel’s is good.
- EVOO for salads. The price of olive oil has gone through the roof lately, but you can still find decent olive oil in supermarkets. Some of my favorite brands: In Sansbury: Iliada,
- EVOO for cooking. I use Waitrose‘s own brand.
- Reduced Balsamic Vinegar. I use La Vecchia Dispensa or Seggiano which you can buy online or in Wholefoods.
- Organic Japanese Tamari. Go to a Japanese or Asian shop and get a traditional product.I found this from Yutaka absolutely great. You can also find it in some Sainsbury branches and has a very good price.
